"Doesn't pay attention"... “Stares out the window"... "Day-dreams too much"
These were the statements that appeared on report cards throughout my early school years - so often that I dreaded progress report day. I've had dual citizenship between real life and my inner world from a very early age. Having survived early childhood instruction where kids are taught the importance of coloring inside the lines, it wasn't until I learned to value the lines themselves, that I really began to feel at home in both my worlds. I find no greater joy as an Artist than when, through my work, your animal-loving, day-dreaming inner-child has connected with my own.
Licensed Contemporary PUP Artist, Kim Niles, is a full-time Artist, Illustrator, Author/Illustrator, & Surface Designer, originally from Eastern Washington. A working Artist since 1998, it wasn't until 2004 when Kim began to experiment with India inks and color pencils on little scraps of watercolor paper, that "KiniArt" was born as she began her journey toward developing her own highly unique cartoon Illustrations.
In 2004 her KiniArt™ company was founded and by Fall of 2005, Kim made it her full-time job, selling original artworks online through her own website and at other online venues. She also designs a line of KiniArt gifts which include everything from KiniArt apparel to KiniArt fabrics; and licenses her KiniArt designs to other companies for use on their products such as personal checks & address labels, apparel, and more. Kim also enjoys painting on canvas with the mixed media of acrylics, India inks, watercolor pencils, and watercolor crayons. The images for Kim's giclée reproduction art prints are often created by www.KiniArt.com
pairing a scan of the hand-drawn subject with a colorful digitally-painted background to create a brand new artwork. The majority of Kim's prints are open-edition prints, however, they are printed in very small quantities - usually only at the point of sale, or a very small few to be offered through the gallery.
KiniArt originals are in private collections throughout the US, Canada, and more than 10 other countries across the globe. Kim's children's books are available on Amazon, B&N, and signed copies of her book "Muggles' New Home" are available at the gallery.
