I took my first basket weaving class at a community education venue and have been hooked ever since! That was 20 years ago, and I still marvel at the beauty and function of baskets, and their complex textures with both visual and tactile appeal. I especially enjoy learning about their design, origin and histories. My baskets are created with natural reed and are all hand shaped and hand dyed.
Baskets are versatile. Not only do they have wonderful forms but they are functional as well. With baskets there are no ifs, ands or buts. Baskets get it done while providing casual elegance and warmth.
Baskets attractively accommodate a deluge of throws, remotes or magazines. They are great to organize club or craft projects or your reading materials. Of course, they're also perfect to corral dog, cat, or even children’s toys.
The wide assortment of shapes, sizes, colors, and texture make baskets perfect furniture and decorative accessories! Where others strive for esoteric meaning, I seek the means to appeal to the eye and the sense of touch. This is art that says “Pick me up — Please Touch.”
