PATTY PICCO |
 |
In my work, I enjoy the process of trying to infuse a sense of energy and mystery to the ordinary.
When I experience nature, I gain a deep appreciation for the spiritual energy that we share with
creation. This appreciation leads me to an investigation of the image. I enjoy the push and pull
of the journey.
I use different mediums to convey my feelings. They range from printmaking to collage to wax
encaustic to sculpture. At times I layer all of these mediums in one piece.
Patty Picco holds a B.F.A. in painting from California State University at San Jose. She
also studied printmaking for two years at San Francisco City College. She has exhibited her
prints, mixed media and encaustic paintings in museums and galleries throughout the United
States. She is an award-winning, internationally collected artist. Her prints and paintings are
represented in major corporate and individual collections. Her work is exhibited at Garry Oak
Gallery in Oak Harbor, on Whidbey Island. She also participates in the Spring Art Studio Tour
on Whidbey.
Patty has had over twenty-five years of teaching experience, most recently, before she moved to
Washington, she taught at the Boca Raton Museum of Art School in Florida. She now will be
teaching classes at the Coupeville Art Center.
