Acrylic Painting
Artist Bio
Creating things has always been a driving force in my life. I've worked with crochet, macrame and refinishing/painting furniture for years. This has been a great foundation for my creativity and love of art. I attended a "Paint and Sip" event several years ago, where I painted an old truck for my young son named the "The Rusty Bucket". It was then that I realized what a passion I have for working on canvas. Most of my interest in art has been formed by my many years on Whidbey Island in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. The natural landscape here has inspired me to photograph and paint extensively.
I work with acrylics for my landscapes focusing on light, bright sunsets, sunrises, and vibrant skies. I enjoy the precision I can achieve in a landscape, but also the freedom of painting abstract. Some of my abstract designs are impasto (using molding paste and gel medium to achieve textured art). I love to experiment with acrylics and textures. I'm always looking forward to the next painting.
As my partner in life and this endeavor, Jason is an enormous support. He assists with many of the business operations in order to give me the freedom to spend more time behind the canvas. He has great ideas for future projects and even helps name a few of my compositions.
I intend to keep exploring my own Pacific Northwest area and beyond for landscape inspiration. Experiment with different mediums, techniques, and incorporate my interpretation of the beauty found in the world. This is what I have a passion for, and I hope you enjoy my work.
