a bit about us...
In 2008 artist-owned Garry Oak Gallery opened to become Oak Harbor's first major co-op gallery and a part of the vibrant Whidbey Island art community. With a dedicated group of  more than twenty-five established and emerging local artists, Garry Oak Gallery brings new and  original works of art on display to the delight of both locals and  visitors. As one of many Whidbey Island art galleries, Garry Oak Gallery provides a unique balance of both high-end fine art as well as  a  generous supply of easily affordable art work. We also carry note cards  that feature our artists' work. Read more here about the founding of our art gallery.

Come on in!  At least one of our artists is always in the gallery, and he or she would love to talk with you about your art desires. We are open daily from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm with extended hours in summer.

Please browse our website and see what our many local artists are creating and showing at our gallery! We'd love to know what you think so give us your feedback by clicking here.

Our December Featured Artist in the spotlight!

Say hello to March Featured Artist -- Michelle Bach, Potter

Artist of the Month: Michelle Bach

"Utilizing mid-range stoneware clays from around the United States and commercial brush-on glazes, I create wheel-thrown ceramic bowls at home in my garage studio. Throwing clay is deeply fulfilling to me and has allowed me to integrate my interior design background, further exploring the themes of color, flow and function. My aspiration is that when someone holds one of my creations, they will experience the same sense of contentment that I derive from its conception. I also hope to imbue every piece I craft with meaningful connections. They serve as a tangible bridge, connecting people as they use and share my bowls."

Having dabbled in creative ventures all her life, Michelle Bach recently discovered her passion for ceramics after her homeschooled teenage daughter began taking college level classes. With a wide open schedule, she poured herself into classes and membership at Whidbey Clay Center in Freeland and has developed a body of functional work that she enjoys putting out into the world. She is also an Army Veteran, earning her BFA in Interior Design using the GI Bill. You can find her in her home studio or at Whidbey Clay Center most days, hand crafting functional ceramics which are shown here at Garry Oak Gallery, also at Artworks, Whidbey Clay Center, Wildly Beloved Foods, and SeaBre’s Yarn. This year she branched out and participated in various fairs and markets: Whidbey Art Market, Coupeville Arts & Crafts Festival, Whidbey Working Artists Summer Open Studio Tour, Whidbey Women & Art, and Northwest Art Alliance’s Best of the Northwest Fall Show.
